One of The Write Factor’s key goals is to help nurture and encourage the talent and imagination of writers, and the way we do this is through our annual ‘Shortlist.’
We invite budding writers who are previously unpublished to submit the first 2,000 words of their novel, memoir, short story or article to The Write Factor where it will be assessed by our team. The top five stories will then be forwarded to a panel of judges (published writers and editors) for final evaluation.
The winner will receive a Special Award that could range from prize money to a short course at The Arvon Foundation; from full representation to free manuscript services.
The Shortlist for 2013 is now open – deadline 31st October 2013. If you would like to enter the Shortlist, email the first 2,000 words of your story, (including title), together with your email address to mail us.
The winner of the Shortlist for 2012 is Lynn Batten with her witty and insightful short story The 7.45 – Tales from the Back of a Bus, now available from The Write Factor via Kindle. (See Publications – Contemporary Fiction – for more details.)
The Write Factor is pleased to announce that Mai’s Wedding by John Moat is now available on Kindle and in paperback
